Flow Tek uses our patented process for manufacturing advanced
polymer fly lines. In order to gain clarity all clear lines utilize
a monofilament nylon core material. (US Patent 5625976) Anglers
realize monofilament nylon has a tendency to acquire memory (think
of your leaders). While our slick, clear coating minimizes memory,
the monofilament nylon upon long storage times and with small
arbor reels will produce some memory. Anglers will want to slightly
stretch MONIC clear lines to alleviate reel memory. For optimum
results on stretching; try to stretch at one time the maximum
amount of line you intend to cast.
Loop fly line and tie a nail
knot with butt leader, slide knot to end of loop and cinch.
Loop-to-Loop
Use on: All MONIC fly lines
Tie two or three nail knots
with 15 lbs monofilament nylon.
GSP Fused Nail Knot
Use on: All MONIC "GSP"
fly lines
Tie a conventional nail knot.
Trim fly line to approx. 1/4 inch. Use flame to slowly melt fly line
back to knot. Quickly spin between fingers for a smooth finish.
Care for
your MONIC fly lines is critical for peak performance. Once fly
lines pick up dirt they do not float and cast to their full potential.
Clean lines with a mild detergent and redress with your favorite
dressing. Line dressing and cleaners do not affect our polymer coatings.
It is to your advantage to consistently clean your fly lines.
